this week in the news
1
As I contemplate ways to make my little blog relevant to all
of you, I think about the news. People like the news, or rather don't like the
news but are addicted to it. So I thought I would share pizza news with you
every week, to the best of my ability. My plan will be to give you a quick
recap of the articles I read, including their original headlines, and then a link
to the original stories. Here goes nothing.
"We tried New York City's newest slice- a deep-fried
pizza"
My first thought when I heard this story was that they
assembled the pizza and then fried it, which sounded messy unless you sealed it
off. And although that would be delicious, it would essentially become
something else. That shall not be named. Don't fear, they fry the crust, then
assemble the toppings, then bake the whole thing. Which sounds delightful and
fattening. The way a pizza should be.

This story is interesting because it essentially took place
almost a month ago. But the article I read doesn't really clearly state why it
is coming back up in the news. Despite that, the website The Good News Network
published this on the 4th.
22-year-old Jeff Louis of Mentor Ohio delivered a pizza to
The life Point Church congregation there.
What he didn't expect is a $700 dollar tip that was given as
a lesson in generosity.
I don't know what the pastor was hoping to teach them, but I
think the lesson basically taught itself. Because Jeff was struggling from
addiction and it would appear this was the sign he was waiting for to change
his life. In the story from this week it would appear that the church is
offering to cover up to 100% of his rehab costs. So it was a pretty good news
story in a pretty heavy week.
