Salt City Pizza Co.

So, now I am on to my second review and I have found it important to rate a restaurant on some scale that isn’t completely arbitrary. So as I was thinking of how to review the Salt City Pizza Co, I realized a system. I will rate each restaurant on the top five things I care about as a customer; this includes the things I assume you will all care about as well.
So here is the method. Every category will be given a potential of 15 points.  Then its over all score will be added together. The star rating I assign will be given based on the overall score with a potential of 75 points. So lets get right to it.

Salt City Pizza Co. is obviously the name of the place today. Seeing as how I have said it a number of times.  I won’t be rating restaurants on their name specifically just on there identity and brand. And I feel really good about this name. It is simple and yet professional.

Service 15

When I went there it was moments after they opened and a man and a women seemed to be the only two working. That certainly didn’t bother me. Over all they are very good. When it comes to pizza, taste will overshadow a lot of other things.
But they were quick to serve me, quick to make my pizza, and concerned about my wallet.
It may concern some of you more than it did me, and that is why I include this but there was no real seating option. This is meant for carry out or delivery. They don’t really want to encourage you to hang around.

Location and identity 3

As I said earlier, their logo and name are great.  Really simple but professionally done, their location is the chief reason they haven’t grown much beyond where they are at right now. As you can see on the map they are on Gentile Street in Layton.
For the readers not familiar with this area, it is just far enough away from Main Street that most businesses in this corner of town fail. They are next to the empty shell that used to be the Costume Castle.  And I fear this good quality pizza might disappear because they are just far enough off the beaten path to tank.

Menu 6

The selection of pizza is all encompassing, but it is difficult to know that because they have no menu board detailing prices or topping options. The only thing they have by way of a menu is a white board that tells you what their manager specials are. The special I ordered wasn’t even on the white board.
there website does compensate for this, so i would recommend you take a look at their online menu before you go in.

Price 10

When it comes to price, it is difficult to say exactly how well they do. This difficulty comes from the fact that what I ordered was described to me as a special. I don’t know how long this price lasts. What I do know is I paid 7.99 for a large two topping. This pizza is about two inches wider than the large option at dominos. It was definitely worth it to me.

Taste 15

This is really where they hit it out of the park! The sauce has a hint of sweetness. The crust is soft and flavorful. The cheese is stringy and savory. For my toppings I ordered peperoni and bacon. They had a great deal of bacon bits spread evenly throughout the pizza and every bit got some peperoni. It was excellent. If they were willing to franchise, I would happily take them up on it, just because as previously said the taste really overshadows every other category with these folks.
The pizza isn’t really a thin crust, just a classic hand tossed crust with even distribution of toppings.

Over all rating

If this were all about taste, they would be a 5 star joint, but it isn’t. based on the outline I gave you they get 3 ½ stars out of five. Again that is over all. In summary get over there right now and order a freaking pizza! Right now! Here I will give you their number call them! (801) 543-1800
