First review! i will do my best to guide you to great pizza
2
That’s right! Even though I am in Utah. There are
unique pizzeria's here. And I plan on reviewing every one, eventually. But
today for lunch I ate at Tossed pizzeria.
Now, the first thing I will say is that they were
tragically slow. They are one of the only unique restaurant options at the Layton
hills mall. While I am not one of those obnoxious foodies who insist that you
only eat at unique restaurants no matter what the quality is. I do think that
too many people are suckers for good marketing and not great food. All I really
ask is that if you usually eat at subway, step back for a minute and see if
there is anything nearby that might be just as good.
One more thought and then this rant is over. But it
is an uphill battle for people who don't franchise with a major corporation. They
have to finance their own marketing. And run the restaurant. But a corporation
will put up billboards and run TV ads and do your website. So just spend a
minute thinking about the little guys. Most are pretty good, and the ones who
aren't will disappear soon. The scary thing is that most the good ones
disappear too.
So if you couldn't tell i really liked this pizza. In
the traditional 5 star methods I would place them at 3. They were good enough
that I think you guys should check them out.
I ordered something called the old world, which I thought was
basically the pizza margarita. And it was really good even though it was
essentially a cheese pizza. Don’t you forget you meat lovers, cheese is just as
good a topping as meat. As long as the cheese you have is good. Which this
pizza's cheese was.

First I want to start with a description and review
of the ordering process. You will step up to the attendant who is patiently
waiting. And you can order any of their predetermined pizzas. Or you can build
it subway style. The "specialty Pizza's" are a cheaper option. While I
only had one having a specialty pizza is a better option. You aren't the
professional pizza chief. Just let the professionals tell you what tastes good
on a pizza.
The old world is "Fresh Mozzarella, House Made Plum Tomato Sauce,
Pecorino-Romano Cheese, Drizzled with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Topped with
Fresh Basil" the Basil comes in the form of a few leaves, which sounds bad
but I promise it is not.
So you step to the right of the counter and place your order. If you build your own and get more than one topping your can expect to pay 6$ or more. But the specialty pizzas come with a few toppings and the personal size is under 5.
It is savory, good and generally cost effective when comparing some of
their competitors. the personal size is perfect price and size for lunch. The only criticism i have is that the larger the pizza gets, the less cost effective it becomes. i think that is a given but what i mean is a personal pizza is perfect size and price, but a large pizza at one of their competitors is better value.
Never the less, please support these folks cause they deserve to grow. I promise that they are not paying me. Thanks for reading!
